FAQs
What is the difference between refined and cold-pressed oil?
Refined oils are processed using high heat and chemicals, which can reduce natural nutrients and aroma. Cold-pressed oils are extracted at low temperatures without chemicals, helping retain their natural flavour, aroma, and nutritional value.
Why is palm jaggery added during sesame oil preparation?
Palm jaggery is traditionally added to balance the natural bitterness of sesame seeds and enhance the oil’s overall taste and depth.
Is sesame oil suitable for daily cooking?
Yes. Sesame oil is stable for everyday cooking and works well for sautéing, roasting, traditional dishes, and tempering (tadka).
Why does sesame oil have a strong aroma?
The distinct aroma comes from naturally occurring compounds in sesame seeds. In traditionally prepared oils, this aroma is retained rather than removed.
